Investigating States definition

Investigating States means the State Attorneys General of the States and/or Commonwealths of Iowa, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

  • For a Marine Casualty referred to in 7.1 or 7.2, agreement may be reached by the relevant States with another Substantially Interested State for that State or States to be the Marine Safety Investigating State(s).

  • Requesting state means a state which invokes the procedures of the compact to secure the undertaking or intensification of measures to control or eradicate 1 or more pests within 1 or more other states.

  • Responding state means a state in which a petition or comparable pleading for support or to determine parentage of a child is filed or to which a petition or comparable pleading is forwarded for filing from another state or a foreign country.

  • Remedial investigation means a process to determine the nature and extent of a discharge of a contaminant at a site or a discharge of a contaminant that has migrated or is migrating from the site and the problems presented by a discharge, and may include data collected, site characterization, sampling, monitoring, and the gathering of any other sufficient and relevant information necessary to determine the necessity for remedial action and to support the evaluation of remedial actions if necessary;

  • County indigent transcript means a transcript that is paid for from county funds and is for the use on behalf of a litigant who has been declared indigent by a court.

  • Investigating Officer means the person appointed by the Monitoring Officer to undertake a formal investigation of a complaint alleging a breach of the Code of Conduct by a Subject Member. The Investigating Officer may be another senior officer of the Borough Council, an officer of another authority or an external investigator.

  • clinical investigation means any systematic investigation in one or more human subjects, undertaken to assess the safety or performance of a device;

  • Sending state means the state from which a child of a military family is sent, brought, or caused to be sent or brought.

  • Controlling Authority means the Minister administering the Tasmanian State Service Act 1984.

  • Investigations The Xxxxxxx, when requested by one or a number of employees whom he/she represents, may investigate the basis for any dispute arising under this Agreement and may, at any stage, assist the employee(s) in seeking resolution of such dispute through the grievance procedure provided herein. A representative of the Union may substitute in place of the Xxxxxxx.

  • Licensing state means any state with regulations equivalent to the suggested state regulations for control of radiation relating to, and an effective program for, the regulatory control of NARM and which has been granted final designation by the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors, Inc.

  • Operating Statement shall have the meaning given to such term in Section 10.5.
