Housing Needs definition

Housing Needs. Means a person shall be in “housing need” if they are demonstrably unable to afford to purchase or rent a house of a size suitable for their needs (which shall include the needs of any others who live with that person as part of one family) on the open market, as certified by a body registered with the Financial Services Authority to provide mortgages via written confirmation of the maximum amount of mortgage eligibility, with the applicant’s income details stated, AND as assessed by the Council’s Housing Services AND that person (or at least one person if there is more than one) qualifies under the definition oflocal connection” as stated above.

  • Housing Act means the United States Housing Act of 1937, as amended, or its successor.

  • Housing Services means the active search and promotion of individual access to, and choice in, safe and affordable housing that is appropriate to the individual's age, culture, and needs.

  • Supportive housing means housing with no limit on length of stay, that is occupied by the target population, and that is linked to an onsite or offsite service that assists the supportive housing resident in retaining the housing, improving his or her health status, and maximizing his or her ability to live and, when possible, work in the community.

  • Family day care home means a unit registered under Title 5, Subtitle 5 of the Family Law Article.

  • Housing Specialist means a specialized position dedicated to developing the full array of housing options for their program and monitoring their sustainability for the population served in accordance with the minimal housing standards policy set by the COUNTY for their program. The Housing Specialist is also responsible for assisting Participants with applications to low income housing, housing subsidies, senior housing, etc.

  • Adult Foster Home (AFH means any home in which residential care and services are provided in a home-like environment for compensation to five or fewer adults who are not related to the provider by blood, marriage, or adoption. An adult foster home does not include any house, institution, hotel, or other similar living situation that supplies room or board only, if no individual thereof requires any element of care.

  • Child with special needs means a child with one or more of the following conditions:

  • Persons with disabilities means persons who have long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairments which in interaction with various barriers may hinder their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others;

  • Foster home means the place of residence of any natural person in which any child, other than a

  • Mutual housing corporation means a corporation not-for-profit,

  • Residential living care means a level of service provided by an assisted living facility for adults who may have physical or mental impairments and require only minimal assistance with the activities of daily living. The definition of "residential living care" includes the services provided by independent living facilities that voluntarily become licensed.

  • Housing costs means the compensation or fees paid or charged, usually periodically, for the use of any property. land, buildings, or equipment. For purposes of this chapter, housing costs include the basic rent charge and any periodic or monthly fees for other services paid to the landlord by the tenant, but do not include utility charges that are based on usage and that the tenant has agreed in the rental agreement to pay, unless the obligation to pay those charges is itself a change in the terms of the rental agreement.

  • Rehabilitation Hospital means an Institution which mainly provides therapeutic and restorative services to Sick or Injured people. It is recognized as such if:

  • Community mental health center or "CMHC" means a facility offering a comprehensive array of community-based mental health services, including but not limited to, inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, emergency care, consultation and education; and, certain services at the option of the center, including, but not limited to, prescreening, rehabilitation services, pre-care and aftercare, training programs, and research and evaluation.
