Computer Misuse Act 1990. This Act makes it a criminal offence to access any part of a computer system, programs and/or data that a user is not entitled to access. Each organisation will adhere to the requirements of the Computer Misuse Act 1990 by ensuring staff are made aware of their responsibilities regarding the misuse of computers for personal gain or other fraudulent activities. Any member of staff found to have contravened this Act would be consi dered to have committed a disciplinary offence and be dealt with accordingly.
Computer Misuse Act 1990. 1) Section 1(1) makes it a criminal offence for any person to cause a computer to perform a function with intent to secure access to any program or data held in any computer where:  the access the person intends to secure is unauthorised, and  the person knows at the time when he or she causes the computer to perform the function that is the case.
