UAE means the United Arab Emirates.
UK means the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Europe means the European Union, the European Economic Area and/or their member states, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
BRRD II means Directive (EU) 2019/879 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2019 amending Directive 2014/59/EU as regards the loss-absorbing and recapitalisation capacity of credit institutions and investment firms and Directive 98/26/EC.
Cayman Companies Act means the Companies Act (As Revised) of the Cayman Islands.
CS means the New York State Department of Civil Service. “DOB” shall mean New York State Division of the Budget. “EEO” shall mean Equal Employment Opportunity.
Indian-owned economic enterprise means any Indian-owned (as determined by the Secretary of the Interior) commercial, industrial, or business activity established or organized for the purpose of profit, provided that Indian ownership constitutes not less than 51 percent of the enterprise.
Asia means Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.
CFPOA means the Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act (Canada).
UK CRR means Regulation (EU) No. 575/2013 on prudential requirements for credit institutions and investment firms of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 June 2013, as amended or supplemented from time to time, as it forms part of domestic law in the UK by virtue of the EUWA.
DBSA means the Development Bank of Southern Africa Limited.
HSBC Group means HSBC Holdings plc, its affiliates, subsidiaries, associated entities and any of their branches and offices (together or individually), and “member of the HSBC Group” has the same meaning.
FC means fixed cost;
EUWA means the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018;
Overseas means outside the conti- nental United States, but does not in- clude Alaska, Guam, Hawaii, the Isthmus of Panama, Puerto Rico, or the Virgin Islands.
U.S. Economic Sanctions is defined in Section 5.16(a).
India means the territory of India and includes the territorial sea and airspace above it, as well as any other maritime zone in which India has sovereign rights, other rights and jurisdiction, according to the Indian law and in accordance with international law, including the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea;
UK Bribery Act means the Xxxxxxx Xxx 0000 of the United Kingdom, as amended, and the rules and regulations thereunder.
Onshore means all facilities except those that are located in the territorial seas or on the outer continental shelf.
