A Hospital means any institution established for in-patient care and day care treatment of illness and/or injuries and which has been registered as a Hospital with the local authorities under the Clinical establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2010 or under the enactments specified under the Schedule of Section 56(1) of the said Act OR complies with all minimum criteria as under

Examples of A Hospital in a sentence

  • A Hospital operated by a government or any of its subdivisions or agencies, including, but not limited to, a Federal, military, state, county or city Hospital.

  • A Hospital stay begins at the time of delivery or for deliveries outside the Hospital, the time the newborn or mother is admitted to a Hospital following birth, in connection with childbirth.

  • A Hospital when a Member is admitted to a general medical, surgical or specialty floor or unit (other than a rehabilitation unit) for acute Hospital care, even though rehabilitation services are or may be provided as a part of acute care.

Hospital does not mean: • convalescent home; • rest home; • nursing home; • home for the aged; • school and college infirmary; • residential treatment facility; • long-term care facility; • urgent care center or freestanding ambulatory surgical center; • facility providing mainly custodial, educational or rehabilitative care; or • a section of a hospital used for custodial, educational or rehabilitative care, even if accredited by the JCAHO or listed in the AHA directory.

  • Mental Hospital means a health care facility (or its psychiatric unit) which:

  • o GENERAL HOSPITAL means a hospital that is designed to care for medical and surgical patients with acute illness or injury.

  • Rural hospital means a hospital that meets both of the following:

  • Psychiatric hospital means an Institution constituted, licensed, and operated as set forth in the laws that apply to Hospitals, which meets all of the following requirements:

  • private hospital means a hospital that is not a public hospital;

  • Transplant hospital means a hospital that furnishes organ transplants and other medical and surgical specialty services required for the care of transplant patients.

  • Hospital/Nursing Home : means any institution established for in- patient care and day care treatment of sickness and / or injuries and which has been registered as a Hospital with the local authorities, wherever applicable, and is under the supervision of a registered and qualified Medical Practitioner OR must comply with all minimum criteria as under:

Partial hospital programs are usually furnished by a hospital as distinct and organized intensive ambulatory treatment service of less than 24-hour daily care.
