Common use of Work System Change Clause in Contracts

Work System Change. In the case of a plant work system change the employees will have a minimum of seven (7) working days to review the new schedule and bid into available positions [each available position and shift will have an assigned number]. After the review, employees will be scheduled by the most senior to select from their bids the classification they are qualified for and the shift that is available. During this time a Union Representative or shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇(s) will be available as the employees make their selections. Employees will be allowed to bid into jobs by seniority, qualifications, and substantial transferable skills. Should an employee decline to sign for a position during the review period, that employee will forfeit their seniority and move to the bottom of the list. If an employee is away on vacation and is not available by phone, they must provide a list containing the preference order of their bids that correspond with the schedule that was posted during the review period. Once the process has been completed it will be posted and a copy of the new schedule will be sent to the union representative within forty-eight (48) hours of its completion.
