Common use of Upgrading Courses Clause in Contracts

Upgrading Courses. Where employees are required by the Employer to take courses to upgrade or acquire new employment qualifications, the Employer shall pay the full cost associated with the courses. It is agreed that education is a shared responsibility between the Hospital and the employees. As such, employees who are requested by the Hospital to attend short courses, workshops or seminars during their regularly scheduled work day shall not suffer a loss of wages. Furthermore, if it is scheduled outside their regularly scheduled work day, they shall be compensated at straight time.
