Common use of Union Functions Clause in Contracts

Union Functions. The Employer agrees to grant authorized Union representatives time off with pay, not to exceed an accumulative total of ten (10) working days per bargaining unit in any calendar year to attend or represent the Union at Union functions. 7.3.1 To ensure adequate staffing, no more than one (1) member in a work unit will participate in a Union function at one time. A "work unit" shall be defined as a group of employees who answer to a common supervisor. If staffing allows, an additional person from the same work unit may attend by mutual agreement.
