Common use of TIME OF COMMENCEMENT AND COMPLETION Clause in Contracts

TIME OF COMMENCEMENT AND COMPLETION. The Contractor shall commence the Work to be performed under this Contract on such date as is established and fixed for such commencement by written notice to proceed given by the City to the Contractor, and the Contractor covenants and agrees to properly construct, perform, and substantially complete the Work within ( ) consecutive calendar days after the date of commencement fixed and established by such notice, and to achieve Final Acceptance within thirty (30) consecutive calendar days thereafter. The Contractor further agrees that the Work shall be started promptly upon receipt of such notice and shall be prosecuted regularly, diligently, and uninterruptedly at a rate of progress that will ensure full completion thereof in the shortest length of time consistent with the Contract Documents.
