Common use of Substitution of Paid Leave Clause in Contracts

Substitution of Paid Leave. If leave is taken because of the employee’s own serious health condition, an eligible employee must first exhaust any accrued paid sick leave, personal leave, and vacation. If leave is taken to care for a child, spouse, or parent with a serious health condition or to care for a newborn or newly-placed adopted or xxxxxx child, an eligible employee must first exhaust any accrued paid personal leave and vacation. If the employee’s accrued paid leave is less than twelve (12) weeks, the remaining weeks will be unpaid.
