STOP ORDERS AND STOP LIMIT ORDERS. If you place a “stop order” or “stop limit order” with LPL, you acknowledge that you are aware of how the order operates and the risks associated with it. In particular, you are aware of and acknowledge (a) the price you indicate for a “stop order” is not a guaranteed execution price and the price at which the order ultimately is executed may be significantly different from the price you intended or expected, (b) a stop limit order may not execute at all in certain circumstances, such as where the order is triggered but then cannot be filled at your limit price, and (c) stop orders and stop limit orders may be triggered by a short-lived, dramatic price change, such as during times of market volatility.
