Common use of Stanford University Clause in Contracts

Stanford University. A. The parties recognize that The Board of Trustees of The Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx Junior University (“Stanford”) operates a non-profit university, and purchases water from San Francisco for redistribution to the academic and related facilities and activities of the university and to residents of Stanford, the majority of whom are either employed by or students of Stanford. Stanford agrees that all water furnished by San Francisco shall be used by Stanford only for domestic purposes and those directly connected with the academic and related facilities and activities of Stanford, and no water furnished by San Francisco shall be used in any area now or hereafter leased or otherwise used for industrial purposes or for commercial purposes other than those campus support facilities that provide direct services to Stanford faculty, students or staff such as the U.S. Post Office, the bookstore and Student Union. Nothing in this Agreement shall preclude San Francisco from selling water to any county, city, town, political subdivision or other public agency for resale to Stanford or to customers within the service area of Stanford.
