Common use of Shift Length Clause in Contracts

Shift Length. A normal work shift for each position may consist of one of the following shift 26 durations: eight (8), nine (9), ten (10), or twelve (12) hours plus the one-half hour unpaid 27 meal period. Six (6) hour shifts may be placed as part of a core schedule only if that nurse 28 applied for and was awarded a posted vacancy where six (6) hour shifts were part of the 29 core schedule. Shifts of shorter duration may be posted for nurses to pick up as extra 30 shifts but will not be included in the core schedule of any regular nurse. 32 8.4.1 More than four (4) consecutive nine (9), more than four (4) consecutive ten (10), or 33 more than three (3) consecutive twelve (12) hour shifts, shall not be set as part of the core 34 schedule, except in extraordinary circumstances, without the written consent of the 1 affected nurse. Shifts awarded in the electronic scheduling program shall constitute written 2 consent for the shifts awarded.
