Common use of Section Apprentice Work Clause in Contracts

Section Apprentice Work. The Apprentice shall at all times be under the direction of a Journeyman of the same classification in which the work is being performed. An Apprentice(s) shall not work alone inconsistent with the appropriate Unions Standards of Apprenticeship. An Apprentice, who is working with a Journeyman on a particular project, shall not be considered to be working alone, provided the Journeyman is responsible for the Apprentice's work, actively directs the Apprentice and performs inspections as required. The Apprentice shall not work alone in a remote location or where other journeymen are not readily available. A Journeyman who directs an Apprentice does not qualify for Foreperson(s) or Leadperson(s) pay by that action alone. The WSF may initially employ an Apprentice at a level other than the entry level, however, at no time after initial employment shall an Apprentice's hours be waived for purposes of advancement to Journeyman.
