Scheduling Vacation. With the exception of sick leave, any Association member requesting to use any type of benefit time shall provide the Department with a minimum of fifteen (15) calendar days’ notice in advance of such use. When an Association member provides such prior notice, and the Department has approved the time off request, the Department will be responsible for ensuring that any staffing vacancy created by the requesting Association member's absence is filled. If the Association member does not provide the Department with a minimum of fifteen (15) days advance notice, the Association member shall be responsible for ensuring that the staffing vacancy created is filled, if required. If no replacement is obtained by the requesting Association member, the request for leave will be denied.
