Common use of Scheduling Staff Development for Part-Time members Clause in Contracts

Scheduling Staff Development for Part-Time members. District staff development is directed by the district through the building administrators or supervisors. Those administrators direct who should attend required staff development sessions. Part-time licensed staff may be required, by administration, to work additional hours beyond their regular schedule for staff development. Part-time licensed staff must be given four (4) weeks’ notice of the change in schedule. The member shall be paid at his/her per diem rate for the extra time worked. If required to attend, and if there was time between the end of the staff development session and the beginning of their teaching start time, that time would be paid time at their regular per diem rate of pay. Such additional work would be limited to six (6) times per year. Continuing Professional Development A member shall have the right to choose the District Plan or Individual Plan and under neither one shall the teacher be required to set CPD goals that reflect evaluation goals.
