Retirement & Sick Time Conversion. Upon retirement, a nurse will have the right to convert unused sick leave into a cash payment at the rate of one-fourth (¼) of the accrued but unused sick leave credit up to a maximum of four hundred and twenty (420) hours or sixty (60) days. This payment will be based upon the employee’s rate of pay at the time of retirement and will be paid with the final check to be issued on the usual bi-weekly schedule. When accepting such payment, all sick leave credit accrued up to that time will be eliminated.
