Common use of Retention of Benefits Clause in Contracts

Retention of Benefits. An employee will not earn sick pay or vacation credits while on a leave of absence. An employee on a leave of absence, except for maternity or paternity leave, will be required to pay the cost of the insurance benefits provided in Article. VIII in order to keep these benefits in full force and effect during the period of leave.
