Responsible Use. The school issued device is the property of the Hills-Beaver Creek School District which is loaning the device to the student for learning purposes only. The school retains the right to check documents and history created by this device if deemed necessary • abide by the school’s Internet use agreement Taking Care of the Device: ● Bring the device fully charged to school each day ● Report any damage to the device right away to Xx. Xxxxxxx ● Don’t have food or beverages near the device ● Don’t leave the device in extreme elements (cold, heat...) ● Device Management Software may not be removed from the device. ● Carry the device in the provided case with two hands. Be careful not to put heavy books on the device or other heavy items that could crack the screen. ● devices should not be set on top of a slanted binder where they are likely to fall off. Repairs, Replacements, & Fees Students shall not attempt to repair a school issued device on their own. If a device needs repair, it must be taken to Xx. Xxxxxxx as soon as possible. Damage caused by misuse or negligence or a lost device will be the sole responsibility of the student and his/her parents. Problems that occur due to manufacturer defects will not count towards these repairs.

Chromebook Agreement Expectations for use The ability to use a school purchased Chromebook is an educational opportunity and responsibility. It allows for access to resources wherever wireless Internet is located. Use of the device during the school year is provided so students can have access to these tools anytime. School issued Chromebooks shall be used for educational purposes only. Ownership The Chromebook and power supply are the property of the Hills-Beaver Creek School District. Please use with care, since Chromebooks may be checked out to other students after your time with it is complete. Students may not alter the physical appearance of the device by adding stickers, markings, or other items that may be difficult to remove. Students must use the provided sleeve to help prevent breakage. Timeline Students are allowed to use the Chromebook during the school year only. The device may need to be turned in for updates, etc. over holidays, if necessary. All students using a school-issued Chromebook will need to return it in good condition at the end of the school year. There is no guarantee that a particular device will be reissued to the same student the following fall. Consequences of Inappropriate Use The use of any district technology is a privilege and not a right. Students are expected to use their device in accordance with policies and procedures and District Acceptable Use Policy and any applicable laws. Failure to use this device in an appropriate manner will result in the following consequences, as determined by staff and administration of Hills-Beaver Creek Schools: Cancellation of student use or access, loss of computer privileges, loss of the ability to take the device out of the school building, repayment for damages, restitution, parent conference, suspension from school, expulsion from school, civil or criminal liability under applicable laws, and other disciplinary action HILLS-BEAVER CREEK GRADES K-8 DEVICE PROGRAM ACCEPTABLE USE AGREEMENT PARENTS MUST INDICATE AGREEMENT ON FAMILY ID ONLINE REGISTRATION Parent/Guardian and Student: We have read the Hills-Beaver Creek School District’s Technology Acceptable Use Agreement which is available on the District’s Website—xxx.xxxxxxxxxxx.xxx. I, the parent, have explained to my child what is expected, and I give my child permission to use the technology resources according to the regulations set forth in this agreement.

EXPECTATIONS FOR RESPONSIBLE CHROMEBOOK USE • I understand that as HFCA property, the Chromebook is subject to inspection and search at any time and without cause. • I understand that I am not to remove or alter any part of the computer, that only authorized educational programs installed by HFCA staff may be used on the computer, and that I am not to download, install or play games, video, music or pictures unless they are directly related to classroom instruction. • I understand that I am accountable for learning purposes only. Responsible Use. Every effort will be made by the school district to ensure a safe learning environment using district-owned electronic devices. All Chromebooks have management and monitoring software installed so teachers can share screens, guide students, and communicate with students. Our devices have a strong CIPA-approved Internet Filter, to provide the safest Internet experience possible. Even though we employ these technologies, they are not 100% fool proof. The school issued device parent/guardian must also make every effort to monitor their child’s usage at home, and immediately report any suspicious activity to the Principal. Students are class credit ● The device must not be used to follow access, disable or bypass the district’s Technology Use Policy at all times whether at school districtʼs Internet filtering system or not.
