Professional Study Leave. The purpose of professional study leave is to improve the professional qualifications of the teacher so as to produce a direct benefit to the school district. In the application for professional study leave the staff member shall delineate the specifications for self-improvement which shall include: 1) Rationale. 2) General goals for staff member and the benefits to children. 3) Specific measurable objectives for the staff member. 4) Details of how the objectives will be accomplished by the staff member. 5) Procedure for evaluation of the staff member’s attainment of goals and objectives. 6) Specific plan for financing leave if compensation is requested.
Professional Study Leave. Requests for professional study leave must be accompanied by an outline, in writing, of the plan that is to be followed and the institution to be attended. In addition, a clear statement must be included in the request indicating the need for education study and the potential value to the District upon completion of such study.
Professional Study Leave. A member of the bargaining unit who has completed at least three (3) continuous years of service, may be granted, upon request, a leave of one (1) school year or one (1) semester if the administration determines that a satisfactory replacement can be found. Such leave shall be without pay or increment for full-time professional study, other than those covered under Sabbatical Leave of Absence. The teacher on leave must notify the Superintendent, in writing, of his/her intention to return or not by March 1 of any given year.
Professional Study Leave. 8.1 The Board of Education may, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, grant a member of the faculty leave for professional study for the purpose of furthering his/her education by attendance at an institution of higher learning or for the opportunity of participating in a foreign teaching assignment. If such leave is granted, the leave will be taken pursuant to the following conditions:
Professional Study Leave. 1.10.1 Professional study leave may be granted to an employee at the Superintendent's discretion for a maximum of two (2) years. Professional study leave may be granted to pursue advanced degrees, conduct research or other related activities agreed to by the Bargaining Unit Member and the Superintendent. This leave will terminate the employee's present contract as an administrator or professional staff member. Employment upon return from this leave is assured, but not necessarily in the member's former assignment.
Professional Study Leave. Professional Study Leave will be granted on the basis of one (1) full semester or one (1) full year. Leave will be granted only for full-time graduate study or completion of an undergraduate degree. Xxxxxx credits must be filed with the Director of Human Resources prior to re-employment in the School District. The maximum amount of time permitted for professional study leave is one (1) full year of leave.
Professional Study Leave. A leave of absence without pay or benefits for professional or educational purposes may be granted by the Board upon receipt of a written request. The request shall contain the inclusive dates for a leave period and a plan for the professional or educational program.
Professional Study Leave. Subject to the approval of the Board of Education, leaves of absence without pay for one year may be granted to any certificated employee who has completed four (4) years of continuous service. When this leave is granted, the absence shall not be construed as a break in service as far as seniority is concerned.
Professional Study Leave. Upon written application a leave of absence for up to one year may be granted without pay for professional study or travel. The regular salary increment shall accrue. This leave may be renewed at the discretion of the Board. No benefits such as, but not necessarily limited to, paid leave shall be granted or accrued during the period of time spent in professional study leave. When returning from a leave at the start of the school year or semester, the teacher shall be returned to his/her former position providing the exact position left is still in existence, or to a position of like nature, seniority, and pay. When such teacher is reinstated all previously accrued benefits such as, but not necessarily limited to, paid leave shall be reinstated.
Professional Study Leave. Leave without pay may be granted on the basis of one (1) full semester or one (1) calendar year for full-time graduate student in a program approved by the Superintendent. Credits earned must be filed with the Superintendent or his designee prior to reinstatement. An extension of one full year of leave may be granted upon request. Any teacher requesting a leave of absence who thereafter changed plans, shall notify the Superintendent not later than May 1. A teacher on a leave of absence who wishes to return shall notify the Superintendent not later than March 1.
