Common use of Professional Development Requirements Clause in Contracts

Professional Development Requirements. Teachers shall meet the professional development requirements of MCL 380.1526 (teachers in first three (3) years of employment) and MCL 380.1527 (teacher professional development) and report such compliance with the District office prior to June 1 or 15 days prior to the state submission deadline of each school year. (The District shall provide a form for reporting professional development activities.) Failure to report or meet such requirements by the deadline shall result in a salary reduction of ¼% of a teacher’s base pay. Such reduction shall be taken in the teacher’s June 23 paycheck. If District professional development time is not approved by the state, no reduction of ¼% base pay will occur. Should the state of Michigan professional development requirements be repealed, this provision shall be void.
