Principal Component Analysis. The use of principal component analysis (PCA) commonly serves for two purposes: data reduction and interpretation. (Xxxxxxx & Xxxxxxx, 2007). Given a set of correlated variables, a different set of uncorrelated variables called principal components, can be generated through some linear combinations of the originals to explain the information contained in the original set. The principal components then reduce the number of variables under consideration, but still represent most of the information. (Xxxxxxxxxxx, Xxxxxx, Xxxxxxxx, & Xxxxxxxxx, 2008; Xxxxxxx & Xxxxxxx, 2007). In this way, the dataset can be reduced to a probably smaller number of uncorrelated variables and become easier for interpretation.   • Random Testing Notwithstanding any provisions of the Collective Agreement or any special agreements appended thereto, section 4.6 of the Canadian Model will not be applied by agreement. If applied to a worker dispatched by the Union, it will be applied or deemed to be applied unilaterally by the Employer. The Union retains the right to grieve the legality of any imposition of random testing in accordance with the Grievance Procedure set out in this Collective Agreement.
