Common use of Planning and Progress Schedules Clause in Contracts

Planning and Progress Schedules. The Contractor shall submit to and for the approval of the Engineer, a detailed schedule of operations. The schedule shall show the proposed methods of construction and sequence of work and the time the Contractor proposes to complete the various items of work within the time specified in the Contract. No work shall begin until the Progress Schedule is approved by the Engineer. If the Contractor’s operations are materially affected by changes in the plans or in the quantity of the Work or if it has failed to comply with the submitted and approved schedule, the Contractor shall submit a revised schedule if requested by the Engineer within seven days after the date of the Engineer’s request. This revised schedule shall show how the Contractor proposes to prosecute the balance of the Work, so as to complete the Work within the time specified in the Contract.
