Parental Leave – Supplementary Benefits. 25.5.1 During the period of Parental Leave, a Member who has been employed by the University for at least 13 weeks before the birth of a child or 13 weeks before a child comes into the parent’s custody, care and control for the first time, is entitled to the following supplementary benefits. For a maximum of four (4) weeks, they shall receive an amount equal to the difference between the Employment Insurance benefits received and ninety-five (95) percent of their current salary. Supplementary benefits provided under Parental Leave shall be subject to conditions of Pregnancy Leave – Supplementary Benefits under 25.2.3, 25.2.4 and 25.2.5.
