OSGi Clause Samples

The OSGi clause defines the use of the OSGi (Open Service Gateway initiative) framework within the context of the agreement, typically specifying how software components or modules interact in a modular Java environment. This clause may outline requirements for packaging, deployment, and versioning of software bundles, as well as compatibility with the OSGi specification. Its core practical function is to ensure that all relevant software components adhere to the OSGi standards, promoting modularity, interoperability, and ease of maintenance within complex software systems.
OSGi. The OSGi Service Platform leverages and links two key market trends - the ubiquity of broadband connectivity and Internet access in homes, offices, vehicles and mobile/portable devices, and the emergence of new applications and services in networks and networked devices. In the OSGi world, a services gateway can be a set-top box, cable or DSL Modem, a PC, a web phone, or a dedicated automotive, multimedia, or residential gateway. Today, multiple services (i.e. traditional telephony, Internet access, video and other on-demand content, interactive entertainment, mobile commerce, telemetry and energy management, home appliance control, etc.) can be bundled and managed by any of the traditional service providers. These services are offered via the Internet and various last mile broadband connections to the home, small office, and or to mobile/remote devices. While there are many wide-area network and home networking standards, there has been no service delivery specification. The OSGi specifications provide the 'glue' in this new value chain, through an open-platform independent framework and API's that allows for the dynamic delivery of managed services with secure, scalable and reliable metrics. eu- DOMAIN will deploy the OSGi framework in service gateways. OSGi. The Framework forms the core of the OSGi Service Platform Specifications. It provides a general-purpose, secure, and managed Java framework that supports the deployment of extensible and downloadable applications known as “bundles” [20]. OSGi-compliant devices can download and install OSGi bundles, and remove them when they are no longer required. The Framework manages the installation and update of bundles in an OSGi environment in a dynamic and scalable fashion. To achieve this, it manages the dependencies between bundles and services in detail. It provides the bundle developer with the resources necessary to take advantage of Java’s platform independence and dynamic code-loading capability in order to easily develop services for small-memory devices that can be deployed on a large scale. The functionality of the Framework is divided in the following layers: • Security Layer • Module Layer • Life Cycle Layer • Service Layer • Actual Services The part of the specification that is more interesting to the issue that this document deals is the Service Layer. In this layer, services can register, receive notifications, change their status and be searched. Next list describe some services specification related to context and device awareness that OSGi Framework provides: • Log Service Specification: this specification defines a general-purpose message logger inside the OSGi Service Platform. This specification establishes two services, one for logging information and another for retrieving previous logged information. The specification summarizes the methods and interfaces of the services bundle developers will use to log entries and retrieve them. • Device Access Specification. This service specification allows the interconnection between services and devices of different vendors. It is a meeting point to add and cancel subscription to services. It supports the coordination of automatic detection and attachment of existing devices on an OSGi Platform, as well as facilitates hot-plugging and -unplugging of new devices, and downloads and installs device drivers on demand.

  • University Any notice may be served upon the University by delivering it, in writing, to the University at the address set forth on the last page of this Agreement, by depositing it in a United States Postal Service deposit box with the postage fully prepaid and with the notice addressed to the University at the aforementioned address, or by sending a facsimile of it to the University facsimile number set forth on the last page of this Agreement.

  • Licensee “Licensee” means the individual or company that has entered into an Agreement with the Embassy. “Offer” means a response to a solicitation that, if accepted, would bind the offeror to perform the resultant Agreement.

  • WSIB & LTD An Employee who is receiving benefits under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, or under an LTD plan, is not entitled to benefits under a school board’s sick leave and short-term disability plan for the same condition unless the employee is on a graduated return to work program then WSIB/LTD remains the first payor. For clarity, where an employee is receiving partial benefits under WSIB/LTD, they may be entitled to receive benefits under the sick leave plan, subject to the circumstances of the specific situation. During the interim period from the date of the injury/incident or illness to the date of the approval by the WSIB/LTD of the claim, the employee may access sick leave and short-term leave and disability coverage. A reconciliation of sick leave deductions made and payments provided, will be undertaken by the school board once the WSIB/LTD has adjudicated and approved the claim. In the event that the WSIB/LTD does not approve the claim, the school board shall deal with the absence consistent with the terms of the sick leave and short-term leave and disability plans.

  • Cardiff Capital Region commits to developing proposals for how better and more flexible use of data could be used to drive innovation across the public sector and within the wider economy. The Cardiff Capital Region will present a clear case to the UK Government for how a different approach to the use of specific data would improve service delivery and would benefit particular groups.
