Common use of Order of Layoffs Clause in Contracts

Order of Layoffs. Employees shall be laid off in reverse order of their seniority. When layoffs occur, the employee(s) occupying the position(s) affected shall have the right to accept the layoff, or be entitled to exercise their seniority to bump a less senior employee, providing they have the qualifications, ability and skills to perform the work of the position they chose to bump into.
