Common use of Notice of Vacancies Whenever Clause in Contracts

Notice of Vacancies Whenever. the Employer determines that a permanent vacancy exists, a notice of such vacancy shall be posted on the employees’ bulletin board for seven (7) calendar days. During the posting period, anyone wishing to apply for the vacant position shall do so by submitting a written application to the Employer. The Employer shall not be obligated to consider any applications submitted after the posting period or received from applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications for the job. Employees on vacation leave during the seven (7) calendar day posting period may have until three (3) calendar days after the close of the posting to submit a bid or employees may submit a bid on behalf of other employees in their absence. The vacancy created by the filling of the first vacancy will be filled using the posting procedures outlined above. Vacancies created after filling the second vacancy will not be posted and filled at the discretion of the Employer.
