Common use of Military Encampment Allowance Clause in Contracts

Military Encampment Allowance. An Employee with one (1) or more years of continuous service who is required to attend an encampment of the Reserve of the Armed Forces or the National Guard shall be paid, for a period not to exceed two (2) weeks in any calendar year, the difference between the amount paid by the Government (not including travel, subsistence and quarters allowance) and the amount calculated by the Company in accordance with the following formula. Such pay shall be based on the number of days such Employee would have worked had he not been attending such encampment during such two weeks (plus any holiday in such two (2) weeks which he would not have worked) and the pay for each such day shall be eight (8) times his average straight-time hourly rate of earnings (including applicable incentive earnings but excluding shift differentials and Sunday and overtime premiums) during the last pay period worked prior to the encampment. If the period of such encampment exceeds two weeks in any calendar year, the period on which such pay shall be based shall be the first two weeks he would have worked during such period.
