Measuring Distance for Residency Compliance. The Internet program XxxXxxxx.xxx (fastest route) will be the official measurement of the distance from the boundary of the assigned geographic area, or from the detachment office or duty station, to the employee’s residence. If XxxXxxxx.xxx does not recognize a street name or address, the employee will be responsible for finding the nearest address that XxxXxxxx.xxx does recognize and then driving the remaining distance with the supervisor to determine whether the residence is within the mileage limitations. The mileage determination on XxxXxxxx.xxx will not contain water (ferry) miles, airline, straight line or any other method of mileage measurement other than all season, paved, maintained streets recognized by XxxXxxxx.xxx that are generally open, passable, and available to be used by employees to travel to and from their duty station.
