Common use of Lower-than-Expected Indirect Costs Clause in Contracts

Lower-than-Expected Indirect Costs. If the Recipient’s actual allowable indirect costs are less than those budgeted in Attachment 3 to this Award, the Recipient may use the difference to pay additional allowable direct costs during the project period. If annual true up reveals that the Government share of total allowable incurred indirect costs is less than the cost reimbursed, the Recipient must refund the difference as soon as costs are reconciled.
