The Librarian Workload clause defines the expectations and limitations regarding the amount and type of work assigned to librarians. Librarian Workload. (a) Professional Librarian Workload (i) Librarian workload should be developed through consultation among individual librarians, their department heads and library management resulting in agreed upon individual goals and responsibilities. Workload will be consistent with each librarian’s job description as outlined in Article 11.2. (ii) Individual career stage, rank, level of administrative responsibility, interests, expertise, research and professional needs will also be considered when determining workload. Librarians shall be provided with opportunities to pursue research, scholarly contributions, and professional service as outlined in Articles
Librarian Workload. 7.3.1 The assigned hours of the regular contract workload shall be spent on the following activities as assigned by the Immediate Management Supervisor: 7.3.1.1 Library duties; 7.3.1.2 teaching library classes, with the understanding that for each hour of classroom teaching, one (1) additional hour of the thirty-eight and one quarter (38.25) hours will be allowed to perform duties related to teaching the class and 7.3.1.3 attendance at library department meetings and library division meetings as scheduled. 7.3.2 Unit Members are expected to participate in campus and District governance and co-curricular activities including, but not limited to, attending the mandatory non-student duty days, service on hiring, evaluation and other committees, attendance at graduation ceremonies, program and curriculum evaluation and development (including appropriate participation in the formulation of Student Learning Outcomes and the Student Learning Outcomes assessment cycle), etc., as part of their professional obligation.
Librarian Workload. Librarians shall work thirty-five (35) hours per week the same number of weeks during the academic year as instructional faculty. schedules will be assigned by the ▇▇▇▇/supervisor after consultation with the librarians. If a librarian works in excess of thirty-five (35) hours in a week, the librarian shall earn compensatory time at the rate of one (1) hour for each hour worked in excess of thirty-five (35) per week with the approval of the ▇▇▇▇/supervisor. Compensatory time shall be taken on days during the academic year on which full time instructors are at work with the approval of the ▇▇▇▇/supervisor. Disagreements about scheduling may be appealed to the Vice President of teaching, Learning and student Development. For more information regarding Librarian Workload, see section 6.16.
Librarian Workload. The 35-hour weekly work schedule for each Librarian will be assigned by the Director of Libraries. The work week may include evening and weekend hours, so as to provide evening and weekend library and media services. Each Librarian's workload will not require more than five work days and will include five hours for non-student contact job-related activities unless otherwise agreed to in accordance with Article 6.
Librarian Workload. Bargaining unit members employed in the Oregon Tech Libraries have appointments with primary duties in the university libraries. Full-time (1.0 FTE) librarian bargaining unit members shall work a forty (40) hour week on a schedule established by the University Librarian and develop library systems and resources to support the educational and applied research mission of Oregon Tech, such as reference service, library research, information literacy instruction, collection development, and bibliographic organization and control. Bargaining unit member librarians shall meet faculty and student needs consistent with standards of quality recognized by program and institutional accreditation commissions.

Related to Librarian Workload

  • Librarians The normal work week for librarians is 35 hours per week. The maximum for reference desk coverage is 20 hours per week. Individual faculty members may elect to exceed this maximum. Where librarians are involved in instructional modes listed in Article 12.03, these shall be pro-rated. For part-time regular and non-regular type 2 librarians, part of their assignment shall be scheduled as non reference desk duties as agreed upon by the librarian and the administrator responsible. Scheduling work shall follow past practices and shall be delivered in cooperation with the administrator responsible.

  • Architecture The Private Improvements shall have architectural features, detailing, and design elements in accordance with the Project Schematic Drawings. All accessory screening walls or fences, if necessary, shall use similar primary material, color, and detailing as on the Private Improvements.

  • Workload An employee who believes that her workload is unsafe or consistently excessive shall discuss the problem with her immediate supervisor. If the problem is not resolved in this discussion, the employee may seek a remedy by means of the grievance procedure. If the matter is not resolved in the grievance procedure, it may be referred to troubleshooter who shall: a) investigate the difference; b) define the issue in the difference; and c) make written recommendations to resolve the differences.

  • Library Borrowing privileges available without charge. Upon retirement an employee shall be issued a permanent individual library card.

  • Workloads The parties agree to the following provisions relating to faculty members' workload. (a) The registration limits for all courses currently offered by the Employer in the academic, career and technology areas are 35 unless established by practice as lower, excepting multiple sections where the limit is the correct multiple of the number of sections involved. (b) The registration limits for English are as follows: (i) Writing and Composition Courses - 25 (ii) Writing Skills -17 (iii) Creative Writing - 22
