LEAVE PROGRAM. The granting of leave shall be in writing and shall be approved by the Sheriff, or designee, prior to the leave being taken, except in the case of an emergency. Said leave shall be granted if the member has sufficient time accrued, unless this would create undue hardship on the remaining scheduled personnel, as in the case of too many other personnel already scheduled for leave time. When prior approval for leave cannot be obtained by the member due to an emergency, the Shift Sergeant will be notified, and a leave request filed immediately.
