Learning and Development Leave Clause Samples
The Learning and Development Leave clause grants employees the right to take time off from work specifically for educational or professional development purposes. Typically, this leave can be used to attend training sessions, workshops, courses, or conferences that are relevant to the employee’s role or career progression, and may require prior approval from management. Its core function is to support employee growth and skill enhancement, ensuring that staff remain up-to-date with industry standards and best practices while balancing organizational needs.
Learning and Development Leave. (i) Definitions
Learning and Development Leave. (a) FPNSW actively encourages the participation of all employees in continuing education, learning and development activities to increase their knowledge and skills relevant to their role in the organisation. The commitment of FPNSW to the continuing education, learning and development of all employees aims to:
(A) provide employees with the necessary skills to meet current and future job demands
(B) improve the quality of FPNSW services
(C) maintain and improve professional standards and skills
(D) build the capacity of FPNSW employees to fulfil the strategic goals of the organisation.
Learning and Development Leave. Fremantle Ports is committed to fostering a learning environment where employees and the business can develop together. To help achieve this, Fremantle Ports may grant employees paid learning and development leave for accredited courses of study and/or TEE study. Paid learning and development leave will normally be granted where the course being undertaken is relevant to the duties being, or likely to be, performed by the employee, is relevant to the current and emerging business needs of Fremantle Ports, enhances the career development of the employee, and does not unduly affect or inconvenience the operations of Fremantle Ports. To obtain learning and development leave, employees must demonstrate their commitment to learning and studying by undertaking an acceptable formal study load in their own time and by making satisfactory progress with their studies. Fremantle Ports may grant an employee leave without pay to undertake full-time study for a period of up to twelve (12) months subject to the conditions specified in this clause.
