Layoff or Laid Off ---. A termination of employment arising out of a reduction in the force due to lack of work. Under the following circumstances an employee's services shall not be considered terminated by LAYOFF nor shall an employee be considered LAID OFF: (1) when the employee's services are temporarily interrupted because of but not limited to such causes as material shortage, equipment failure, power failure, labor dispute, or other circumstances which cause a temporary cessation or reduction in operations; (2) when the employee is not reinstated from Leave of Absence.
