Late Mechanic. The late mechanic of the week in the Transportation Department shall monitor the Transportation Department Radio System (i.e. Nextel) after 5:15 p.m. in case of an emergency with a bus and/or a trip event which would cause the driver to exceed the sixteen (16) hour work day limit and during the hours when buses are traveling on weekends and holidays. The late mechanic will be compensated for a minimum of one call per week for monitoring the radio system after hours.
