Common use of Initiation of Negotiations Clause in Contracts

Initiation of Negotiations. The Board and Association agree to an initial bargaining meeting not to occur before January 2nd nor later that May 1st of any calendar year. Both agree that the initial bargaining meeting shall take place no later than thirty-one (31) calendar days after written notification of intent to bargain by either the President of the Board or President of the Association. Such written notice to begin bargaining shall be made from the President of the Board to the President of the Association, or from the President of the Association to the President of the Board. Representatives of the Board and the Association shall present to each other their proposed items for negotiation at the first bargaining meeting.
