Initiation of Negotiations. The Board and Association agree to an initial bargaining meeting not to occur before January 2nd nor later that May 1st of any calendar year. Both agree that the initial bargaining meeting shall take place no later than thirty-one (31) calendar days after written notification of intent to bargain by either the President of the Board or President of the Association. Such written notice to begin bargaining shall be made from the President of the Board to the President of the Association, or from the President of the Association to the President of the Board. Representatives of the Board and the Association shall present to each other their proposed items for negotiation at the first bargaining meeting.

Initiation of Negotiations. 1. Requests for commencement of negotiations shall be given no earlier than January 15 of the year the Contract expires. Requests from the Union shall be made directly to the Superintendent, or in his/her absence to his/her designee; requests from the Board will be made to the President of the Union. Unless mutually agreed otherwise, negotiations will begin no later than April 1 of the year of expiration of this Agreement. All meetings shall be mutually scheduled. The date, time, and place of the next meeting will be established before adjournment of each meeting.
