Common use of IDENTIFIED HOLIDAYS Clause in Contracts

IDENTIFIED HOLIDAYS. The days to be designated as holidays in each year during the of this agreement shall be the following: New Year's Day Civic Holiday Good Friday Labour Day Easter Monday Thanksgiving Day Victoria Day Christmas Day Canada Day Boxing Day The Employer will also recognize any other day proclaimed as a public holiday by the Government of Canada, or Ontario, or by the Council of The Regional Municipality of York. In addition to the above, permanent employees (i.e. those employees who have completed their probationary shall be entitled to two (2) Float Holidays. Float Holidays shall not be cumulative. One of the Float Holidays will be taken on a date to be determined annually by the Employer and Union to accommodate corporate closings associated with designated holidays. The Employer agrees to sponsor a Remembrance Day Service on November each year should Remembrance Day occur on a day other than Saturday or Sunday. Note: Should Remembrance Day be declared a Statutory Holiday, the Float Holiday identified in paragraph above will be eliminated.
