HOUR SHIFT BASIS. An employee who works at a premium rate for one hundred seventy-five (175) shifts or more during the preceding vacation year will be paid vacation entitlement for the current year at the premium rate. An employee who works twenty-five (25) but less than one hundred seventy-five (175) shifts during the preceding vacation year, will be paid vacation entitlement for the current vacation year at the premium rate on a proportionate basis as follows: Number of days vacation entitled times number of shifts worked during preceding year divided by one hundred seventy-five (175) equals number of days vacation to be paid at the premium rate; rounded to nearest number of days (i.e. one-half (0.5) or more add one (1) day) The starting time for the day shift can be between 6:00 and 9:00 a.m., but normally at 7:00 a.m.
