Common use of Extra Assignment and Extended Contract Rate Clause in Contracts

Extra Assignment and Extended Contract Rate. The salary schedule is based upon the regular school calendar and the normal teaching load as set forth in this Agreement. Any Professional Employee who has agreed to accept a contract that exceeds the regular Professional Employee work year, or accepts a contract to teach an extra class during his/her planning period, will be additionally compensated as follows: The extended work year shall be compensated at a per diem rate of the Professional Employee’s regular salary as determined by the individual contract. Extended hours, under contract, shall be compensated at prorated portion of the per diem rate.

Any Related Service Professional Employee who has agreed to accept a contract that exceeds the regular Related Service Professional Employee work year, or accepts a contract to teach an extra class during his/her planning period, work outside their individual contract will be additionally compensated as follows: The extended work year shall be compensated at a per diem rate of the Related Service Professional Employee’s Employees’ regular salary as determined by the individual contract. Extended hours, under contract, shall be compensated at prorated portion of the per diem rate.
