Common use of Extended Illness or Accident Leave Clause in Contracts

Extended Illness or Accident Leave. A leave without pay may be granted to a member for a period not to exceed one (1) year, unless required by law, without loss of seniority when such member is physically unable to report for work because of illness or accident. The member must promptly notify the Chief of the necessity therefore (and the Chief shall transmit the request to the City Manager, or designee, for approval).
