Excess Leave. (a) Where an employee has accrued recreation leave in excess of 10 weeks (or 15 weeks in the case of compulsory transferees), the CEO may, on giving a minimum of two months notice, direct the employee to take a period of recreation leave to reduce the accrued leave balance to the equivalent of 10 weeks (or 15 weeks in the case of a compulsory transferee) of entitlements. (b) An employee may seek approval from the CEO to delay the utilisation of excess leave in special circumstances. The CEO will consider such requests on a case by case basis. An employee who has not obtained approval from the CEO to delay the utilisation of their excess leave will be directed to take leave within a three month period, or such longer reasonable period as agreed, taking into account operational requirements.
