Common use of Employee Held Over after Conclusion of Regular Work Shift Clause in Contracts

Employee Held Over after Conclusion of Regular Work Shift. When an employee is held over after the conclusion of his/her regular work shift, the employee shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) for hours worked in excess of his/her regular work shift. After 16 hours have elapsed from the start of the employee’s work day, an employee who is held over shall be paid at the rate of double time and one- half (2-1/2) until the employee is released from work for an uninterrupted rest period of eight (8) hours.
