Elementary Specials Clause Samples

Elementary Specials. Elementary teachers of Art, Library, Physical Education, and Music (excluding band and strings) curriculum shall not be required to teach more than the equivalent of six class periods per day and shall not be required to teach classes which consist of students from more than one home room.
Elementary Specials. An overload in an elementary special will be paid at the rate of $18 per semester per overload as defined in 7B(3).
Elementary Specials. 1. The special educators in the elementary schools (art, vocal music, and physical education) will have a maximum workload of forty-eight (48) periods per week. 2. Any Elementary Art, Physical Education, and Music Specialist shall have the authority to propose a flexible schedule to the building principal. Such a proposal must be developed with input and support of three regular education classroom educators of different grades from that building. Any developed schedule must be approved by the building principal. 3. Elementary vocal music specialists are expected to have two (2) “after school hours” music productions each year for each school for which they provide instruction. In the event that a music specialist needs to provide more than two (2) such programs at a particular school, they will receive a stipend as designated in Appendix “B” Differentials. The additional programs must be approved in advance by the building principal with notification to the Executive Director for Human Resources.

To the extent practicable, elementary principals will develop a specials schedule that takes into account feedback from specials teachers and classroom teachers before finalizing the schedule for the school year. 3. Elementary vocal music specialists are expected to have two (2) “after school hours” music productions each year for each school for which they provide instruction. In the event that a music specialist needs to provide more than two (2) such programs at a particular school, they will receive a stipend as designated in Appendix “B” Differentials.   • Elementary School At the request of the Superintendent, elementary school teachers that teach all the student contact time on a daily basis will be paid for an additional hour at an hourly rate based upon their contractual daily rate of pay for a maximum of 180 days. Teachers will not be required to spend additional time beyond their regular day. All scheduling options must have been exhausted before an administrator will receive permission for this variance. The appeal process for this variance is defined in the Staffing Plan.

  • Elementary Schools Each teacher of grade Pre-K-5 and the specialists who serve those students will be given at least 225 minutes of preparation time within the student day each 5-day student week. Each day of the week, each teacher will have at least forty (40) continuous minutes each day for preparation time.
