The employees covered by this Agreement will be represented by regular stewards assigned to each of the following areas: Maintenance Department, one (1); Bus Garage and Warehouse, one (1); Elementary Schools, two (2); and one (1) at each secondary location.
In order to meet this intent, the Executive Director, Secondary or Elementary Schools, the Director of Special Education and the building principal shall review the class rosters of teachers to resolve any imbalances in the class loads above.
Total Number of Employees on Personal Leave: Elementary Schools: No more than two (2) employees per building may take personal leave on any given day when school is in session, unless the principal and/or his/her designee grants approval to exceed the two (2) employee limit.
Generally, Elementary Schools consist of grades K-5, Middle Schools grades 6-8, and High Schools grades 9-12.
Current practice is as follows: Elementary Schools - 6 hour day inclusive of instruction time, recess and lunch break (approximately one hour).
The number of members shall be as follows: Elementary Schools 5, Middle Schools 7, and High Schools 11.
If the issue is not resolved at the building level, a meeting shall be held with the AEA President, the Executive Director of Secondary or Elementary Schools, the Director of Special Education and the Executive Director - Human Resources to resolve the imbalance.
Head Custodians at the Elementary Schools are classified Custodian Class B.
An effort will be made to assure that all instructional disciplines at the High School and all teams at the Middle and Elementary Schools are represented on a Committee.
The pilot program will be implemented at two (2) Elementary Schools, two (2) Middle Schools and two (2) High Schools (sites to be determined).
