Common use of Educational Improvement Leave Clause in Contracts

Educational Improvement Leave. 26.8.1 With ninety (90) calendar days prior notice to the Human Resources Office, educational improvement leaves may be granted to bargaining unit members who have completed two (2) full years of the probationary period. 26.8.2 Educational leaves shall be granted at the discretion of the District and such leaves shall be without compensation. 26.8.3 Such leaves may be granted for not less than one semester nor more than one year. 26.8.4 An extension of the educational leave may be granted at the discretion of the Board where completion of the courses require more than one year and where the District shall benefit educationally from such study. 26.8.5 Bargaining unit members given leaves of absence under this section shall sign an agreement indicating the length of leave and expiration date. 26.8.6 The bargaining unit member shall give the Superintendent written notice no fewer than ninety
