Common use of Dropping of License Clause in Contracts

Dropping of License. A teacher shall not be permitted to exercise seniority to displace another teacher in a different licensure area by dropping the license in the subject matter in which the teacher is currently assigned by the School District in order to acquire a different assignment through the ULA process. If a teacher drops the license which qualified the teacher for the teacher’s current assignment, the School District may place the teacher on ULA, and the teacher shall have no bumping rights nor realignment rights in another licensure area.
