Disputed Claims for Extra Work. If one of the payment methods set forth in Section 19.7 is not agreed on by the Director, Department of Public Works, the City may retain either an independent contractor to perform such extra work or use its own forces to perform such extra work and the Contractor shall cooperate fully with the independent contractor or City in its performance of the extra work. However, the Director, Department of Public Works may also direct Contractor to perform such extra work and any dispute will be handled as set forth in Section 31 of these General Conditions.
