Common use of Computation of Separation Pay Allowance Clause in Contracts

Computation of Separation Pay Allowance. The allowance shall be computed on the basis of one (1) week’s pay for each of the employee’s full years of continuous service as defined in Article XIII plus one-quarter (1/4) of a week’s pay for each additional three (3) months of continuous service at the time of layoff. A “week’s pay” shall be the employee’s normal straight time salary (excluding shift differential and overtime) in effect at the time of layoff. The maximum amount of separation pay under this formula is twenty (20) weeks.
