Compensating Time in Lieu of Overtime. Compensating time off in lieu of overtime pay will be granted up to a maximum of forty (40) hours per contract year and will be calculated at time and one half or double time. Compensating time off can only be taken with the approval of the appropriate supervisor provided such time off does not interfere with the Board's operating requirements, and provided at least two (2) working days notice has been given of intent to take time off. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. There shall be no carry over of such accumulation from year to year. If, in the judgement of the supervisor, the granting of compensating time off will interfere with the Board's operating requirements the employee may be required to accept payment at the appropriate overtime rate in lieu of compensating time off.
